This reproduction print of an original oil painting is titled, “CUP OF KINDESS"

There is a story about this cup of coffee oil painting. On my way back from taking my sister to the airport, I stopped in Marina del Rey for lunch then to Venice to walk around the boardwalk (to revisit the place I had skated to from Ventura) in 1980 (after watching the miracle hockey game with my dad. However that’s another story for another time).

My cellphone was low on charge so I stopped into this cute coffee shop: Menotti's (at 56 Windward) and they graciously told me where I could plug in. I ordered a latte and then realized I had left my card at the restaurant where I bought a salad for lunch. I apologized and started to leave and the girl behind the counter stopped me and pushed the coffee toward me and said, “no charge for the coffee. ”Who does that?” Humanity is alive and well and I just wanted to testify and commemorate the occasion by painting this memorable cup of kindness.

PROVENANCE: I painted two versions of this cup. One was purchased and entered into the collection of my dear friend and patron Debra Nasalroad Seabaugh, and the other I gave to Molly Minor my friend in Inverness who offered unbelievable kind hospitality when I visited. She found me a place the bay to paint every day and hosted me at her wonderful home on the ridge.

Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment ink uses an exclusive Microencapsulation technology where each pigment particle is encased in a resin. A unique polymer pulls the particles apart, so they are suspended in the solution and never coagulate. The ink base then helps the DURABrite Ultra pigment particles penetrate the paper. DURABrite Ultra ink uses a specific technology to control the penetration level of the ink and keep the colorant near the surface and a special formula that creates more Vibrant & bright colored prints.  Pigment inks come at a higher cost than dye inks but you can feel confident in your investment that will last for generations.
