This reproduction of an original oil painting of a wave is an early painting that holds a great deal of cherished memories. In preparation I painted a black and white value painting of this before I painted it in color.

During my POP-UP solo ART show at Garmin’s in Santa Paula, March 2018 I gave away a print of this painting — drawing a name out of a hat from names all the people who attended. (My family and classmates from Santa Paula). My brother David was the winner of the print. When he passed away in 2019 I learned from his family that he cherished this print.

I am very thankful and honored to join with a tremendous group of artists to raise funds for the hardest hit survivors of Hurricane Micheal in the Forgotten Coast area of Florida (October 2018). The Auction was held October 21-28, 2018 and raised $111,661 for the restoration of the Forgotten Coast area.

This is the painting “POWER OF THE SEA”  I donated to the the Art Auction “Operation Fundstorm” a very worthy cause. I was so proud to be able to do something for the effort especially in light of how people helped me and my island of Puerto Rico in 2017 after Hurricane Maria. #NeverForgotten.

October 2018 - The Florida panhandle was decimated by Hurricane Michael leaving much of Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, Apalachicola and beyond in ruins. Many lost their homes, power was out, buildings were destroyed, remnants of houses and boats spread far and wide. The proceeds of this auction of art donated by many of the artists who have painted in this area will go toward clean up, rebuilding, food, water, and shelter for the residents of this area.

Provenance: The original 8 x 10 oil painting was purchased through the Auction by Jill Wright, and entered into her collection helping Hurricane survivors of the beautiful but ravaged Forgotten Coast at the same time. I believe Jill Wright purchased the painting from the Auction and gave it to her son living in another country at the time.

PIGMENT: We use Epson DURABrite Ultra pigment ink which has a permanence resistance rating up to 105 years as rated by Wilhelm Imagine Research a leading authority of print permanence.

Epson’s DURABrite Ultra pigment ink uses an exclusive Microencapsulation technology where each pigment particle is encased in a resin. A unique polymer pulls the particles apart, so they are suspended in the solution and never coagulate. The ink base then helps the DURABrite Ultra pigment particles penetrate the paper. DURABrite Ultra ink uses a specific technology to control the penetration level of the ink and keep the colorant near the surface and a special formula that creates more Vibrant & bright colored prints.  Conventional dye-based ink particles are absorbed into the fibers of plain paper and are soluble in water. Pigment inks come at a higher cost than dye inks but you can feel confident in your investment that will last for generations.
